whitchurch silk mill
We really enjoy working with industrial heritage - its unique architecture and fascinating collections and machinery are always such a learning experience for us. We find some of our most rewarding challenges in these settings - enabling and creating contemporary experiences which are relevant to people today whilst also preserving their past.
Most recently we have done this for two mills - Home Mill in Trowbridge housing the town's museum and Whitchurch Silk Mill the last remaining working silk mill in the UK.
Whilst very different in their aims and outcomes both activity plans resulted in programmes of activity which placed learning and hands on experience at their heart. We also created new opportunities for people to learn skills whilst also delivering craft based activities for those who would not traditionally visit a heritage attraction.
